Creswaters - When boats are what floats your boat

  Dad started with boats early.  I think this is on the Grand River, when Great Grandpa Harry had a cabin on the river in what is now Comstock Park. Near and north of the bridge He also reported having gone up every summer from Chicago by train, to go up north. Bonus: Great Grandpa on the River

 A Venture 17 and a Pelican 12' where Dad's goto boats. He built one or two Pelicans I think. My Memories 10 minutes out in to the bay I could be found napping on the life jackets. Unless we were out pounding waves on the 'big lake' (Huron Ask  Randy about being out when it was freezing and the boat floating away and back.

 This is an actual photo of Randy in a 5 footer in Grand River Park. A jib, really? why? My Memories: This photo was from before I existed, but my first boat was the same kind - a project boat built by brother Tim out of fiberglass. Used for many year up north - only by paddling or being pulled behind another boat. I don't recall a working sail.

  Seaman Jersey Sea Skiff My Memory: Owned somewhere in late 70's, bought by Randy.
